2. • Hello everyone! We are going to present and
show you some photos of our school.
• The school is marked by the originality of its
architecture, both light and sober, functional
and comfortable, in "dialogue" with the
gardens and the surrounding area.
• The school was officially
inaugurated on January 9, 2013,
and has the name of a famous
Portuguese neuroscientist
António Damásio.

3. • António Damásio, a neuroscientist and
Portuguese researcher, was born in 1944 and is
living in the USA since 1975. He is internationally
acclaimed in the field of neurosciences. His work
has an enormous influence on current
understanding of the neural systems.
• António Damásio is a member of several
academies and American and European
institutions.

distinctions and awards (several of them
shared with Hanna Damásio, his wife, a
neurologist and neuroscientist, too).
